Dave Meltzer is of the belief that Bray Wyatt will be wrestling Uncle Howdy at WrestleMania 39.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer stated that this appears to be the direction WWE is heading in. Bray's status as a top merchandise-seller for WWE means in the promotion has to do something with him at 'The Show of Shows', and a face-off with Uncle Howdy would be in line with current storylines.

Wyatt hasn't wrestled on television since returning to WWE at Extreme Rules 2022 last October. This will change at Royal Rumble 2023 (28 January), when he faces LA Knight in WWE's first ever Mountain Dew Pitch Black match. Away from the cameras, Wyatt beat Jinder Mahal in a series of house show matches in December, suffering a suspected finger injury in one of those bouts.

The Uncle Howdy character has been part of Wyatt's wrestling universe since Bray's return. Attacking Wyatt on a recent episode of SmackDown, Howdy is now positioned as an antagonist in the story.

Though nothing is confirmed yet, Wyatt's real-life brother, Bo Dallas, is rumoured to be playing the Howdy character on WWE television.
