2013 was a great year for comics with scores of excellent titles appearing on the shelves (and if you missed it, my rundown of the top 50 comics of the year is here) and 2014 promises to be an even more exciting year with fantastic new comics being released from big name creators at the biggest comics companies over the next 12 months. Comics have only gotten more popular in recent years thanks to the success of Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. movies with more scheduled to come out this year. Among the biggest comic book movies of the year is the sequel to the first Captain America movie, The Winter Soldier, set for release in April, and Marvel's second superhero team movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, in August. With some of those audiences curious to see the characters in their original format, comics readership has grown and looks to continue growing in 2014. So what do we have to look forward to this year? What new titles are launching and what should we add to our pull lists?
