9. The Phantasm (SPOILERS FOR: Batman: Mask of The Phantasm)
Origin: Andrea Beaumont was created for the DC Animated movie Batman: Mask of The Phantasm. Bruce Timm and the rest of the creative team at Warner Bros. animation aka the people that essentially made my childhood created her. Her father was a rich businessman who got involved with the wrong kind of people and this eventually got him killed. This drove Andrea to take revenge on all those who were a member of the criminal gang who killed her father, especially Jack Napier who had become the Clown Prince of Crime! To take her revenge on Chuckie Sol, Buzz Bronski and Sal Valestra, she dons the mantle of The Phantasm a figure that resembles the Grim Reaper, complete with smoke generator and miniature scythe.

First Appearance: As mentioned Andrea was created for the animated film Batman: Mask of The Phantasm. She was a love interest for a young Bruce Wayne and they were going to get married before she and her father, Carl Beaumont had to leave to country to escape dangerous gangsters. Had she not left, Bruce would have married her and the Batman may have never existed!
