10 More Insane Versions Of Batman You Won't Believe Exist

2. Leonardo Da Vinci's Batman

rsz_batman_black_masterpiece_03 While unfortunately Da Vinci has never taken up the Bat cowl, he did once help to create and train Batman. Thats right, not only was Da Vinci a masterful painter, mathematician and inventor, he is also in fact the father of Batman. The man under the cowl, Lorenzo de'Medici, was actually a real patron of Da Vinci, while the idea of the Leonardo creating the Batman doesn't seem out of the realms of possibility. I mean the guy had plans for a helicopter and tank in the renaissance era. The storyline comes from Black Masterpiece. A story where Lorenzo is tasked to find the woman who posed for Da Vinci's Mona Lisa painting. It also has a parallel story running along side it of a modern day Bruce Wayne trying to find the stolen painting, opening up some sort of weird sort of Assassin's Creed heritage storyline Funnily, Da Vinci's Demon's has just premiered on Syfy, created by David Goyer of the Dark Knight Trilogy. Coincidence? Probably. Could an old Elseworld story have inspired both? It seems highly unlikely, but that won't stop me shouting 'Rip off!' any time I hear either franchise name.
