The Sinister Six made their comic book debut in January 1964's The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1, marking the introduction of what would become one of the most iconic villain teams in comic book history. The sextet were created to defeat Spider-Man - and have been a thorn in the side of Peter Parker's alter-ego ever since - and they were set to make their live action movie debut in the next couple of years in the Amazing Spider-Man franchise, with the likes of the Green Goblin, Electro, Rhino, Lizard, Vulture and Doctor Octopus potentially set to join forces against live action Spidey. However, now that Spider-Man's rights have officially shifted to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it remains to be seen if that will happen.
