10. Their First Tactic Was To Fight Spider-Man Individually
The Sinister Six were first formed in 1964, after Doctor Octopus had been defeated by Spider-Man three times in a row. The tentacled villain contacted every known supervillain that had ever crossed paths with Spider-Man, with the intention of joining forces to take him down, but only Vulture, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio and Sandman responded. This was the first incarnation of the Sinister Six but, not wanting to relinquish their opportunities to take down the Webbed Wonder alone, they foolishly opted to take him on one at a time, with the order in which they did so drawn at random (which completely defeated the object of coming together). Spider-Man defeated them all, of course, and it would be the last time the group - in any future incarnation - would use that silly tactic again.
