12 Villains Far Too Lame For The Marvel Cinematic Universe

With countless pre-existing plotlines and a roster of over 8000 characters to choose from, working for the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the golden ticket for any screenwriter. Now the highest grossing film franchise worldwide, the MCU has reshaped contemporary cinema, with any and every studio with access to comic book characters rushing to start their own on screen universe. By now, we€™re getting to the stage where the average movie goer has seen most, if not all of the Marvel Characters they know up on the big screen. In fact, subject of the Phase Two finale Ant-Man may well be the tipping point for the casuals out there, and this is where the screenwriter€™s jobs get a bit trickier. One criticism levied at the Marvel movies is that the heroes are always so much cooler than the villains. They seem to struggle when it comes to pulling exciting bad guys off the comic book pages and putting them on screen, and, after the recent appearance of a somewhat underwhelming Yellowjacket, the struggle may well be set to continue. The franchise is now looking ahead to Phase Three of their epic series, and with as many as another ten films planned, the writers have their work cut out for them if they are going to get something memorable out the remaining pool of Marvel villains. There are still some exciting options to choose from €“ I€™m hoping for an appearance from Mysterio, personally €“ but for every promising evil-doer that remains unused there€™s a handful that don€™t really whet the appetite, and here are 11 so-called villains that prove it...
