One of the most positive things you can say about these comics is that they learn from their mistakes. Season 8 was became too long and expansive, so Season 9 scaled things back. Season 9 introduced some new rules and elements into the universe that didn't quite stick and were phased out early in Season 10. But the big stumbling point for this series is introducing original characters.

Satsu, another slayer was a great character, but her arc was completed and she only sporadic appears now. Dowling, a detective, is fine, but overall dull and doesn't add much to the story. Billy the Vampire Slayer will likely never be heard from again, along with a handful of other attempted characters.

As great as it is to build on the stories of the main characters, it's become odd that they live in this unchanging bubble. The Scoobies have essentially remained the same since 2003 and it just feels off. Characters coming and going felt natural in the show, but now the dynamic is beginning to feel stagnant. New characters need to be allowed to come and and have the time to develop if the comic is going to continue to feel fresh.
