4. ...But Was Supposed To Be Daredevil
In Bendis' New Avengers title, it was heavily hinted that Ronin was in fact going to be Daredevil himself, rather than one of his allies.
However, readers successfully guessed that Murdock was going to be Ronin with strong hints like this section from a USA Today article which stated:
A "mystery member" is also on the team, but he won't be identified for several issues. Suffice to say he's a Marvel favorite, a Hollywood hit, and the item in his hands is a big clue.
The image that this statement made reference to showed Ronin to be holding two clubs, something which Daredevil is known for. And combined with the facts that the character had received the Hollywood treatment only a couple of years prior to this run and that he was one of Marvel's top heroes, it was quite obvious who was supposed to be under the mask.
Bendis himself even eventually confirmed that this was the original plan, after years of having stated the opposite.
If nothing else, this whole fiasco is a great example of why you shouldn't spoil things.
