More details have been announced on the upcoming Doctor Who/Star Trek: The Next Generation crossover from comic company IDW, including a pretty sweet image of the Enterprise D chasing the Tardis. Reported by Newsarama, the project, released by IDW in conjunction with BBC Worldwide Consumer Products and CBS Consumer Products, will be titled Assimilation2 (don't worry, you haven't missed the first part... I'm pretty sure it's meant to be Assimilation squared), and will feature enemies from both franchises, The Borg from Star Trek and the Cybermen from Doctor Who, teaming up to take over the galaxy. Both enemies share the same M.O. of converting people to their ranks, so that's where the squared comes in. Captain Jean Luc Picard and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise find themselves joining forces with The Doctor and his companions to bring the alliance down. The eight issue series will be written by Scott and David Tipton, authors of the Star Trek chapter in IDW's unique crossover Infestation, a collection of mini series where several different properties, such as Star Trek, G.I. Joe and Transformers, find their worlds invaded by zombies. They will receive a helping hand from longtime Doctor Who writer Tony Lee. Fully painted artwork will be provided by J.K. Woodward (Fallen Angel). Assimilation2 will be released in May. Full artwork is below;
