10 Actors Who Quit Major Film Roles

9. Charlie Hunnam (50 Shades Of Grey)

Whatever your opinion on the Fifty Shades trilogy, these movies are always guaranteed to make hundreds of millions at the box office, so no doubt Charlie Hunnam has mixed feelings about pulling out of it.

The Sons of Anarchy star was due to take on the lead role of Christian Grey, but quit at the 11th hour, forcing the studio to turn to Jamie Dornan instead.

Once again, scheduling conflicts were blamed, but this sounds like a perfectly legitimate reason since Hunnam was shooting the final season of his hit biker drama at the time, and gearing up to appear in Guillermo del Toro's Crimson Peak.

Reports Hunnam was concerned that appearing in 50 Shades would harm his career were probably unfounded, since he went on to star in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword shortly after that.
