10 Annoying Tropes Marvel Needs To Abandon To Save Phase 3

Can the regular audience even follow it anymore?

Marvel Studios know what they're doing. Spearheaded by Kevin Feige, they created a Cinematic Universe which continues to find success after success. All of their movies have been box office hits, and each has found success with critics too. Now, with three releases under their belt which have grossed over $1 billion each, the future looks bright for Marvel. Phase 2 wraps up this July with Ant-Man, and Phase 3 looks set to be the most exciting yet. With a number of new superheroes set to make their big screen debuts, not to mention adaptations of some of the most beloved comic book events of all-time (Civil War and The Infinity Gauntlet) and the MCU debut of Spider-Man, the next few years are going to be very exciting indeed. But... well, there's quite a bit Marvel needs to do to ensure Phase 3 is just as good as the two which preceded it. For starters, it's time to abandon some annoying tropes! If Marvel hopes to maintain the level of quality and success mentioned above, it's vital that they don't become too comfortable with revisiting the same plot beats. With over forty comic book movies on the way over the next five years, it feels like it's make or break time for the genre, and while it would be easy to point to Fox or Warner Bros. for being those most likely to mess everything up, it would be a great shame if it's actually Marvel who does that. Here you will find just ten of the most infuriating clichés from the Marvel movies, all of which need to be scrapped if they hope to avoid souring audiences on the superhero genre.
