The upcoming zombie epic World War Z sees Brad Pitt jump into the role of Gerry, a UN employee forced away from his family to confront the horrors of the zombie outbreak and document its spread. Based on the hit novel of the same name by Max 'Zombie Survival Guide' Brooks, the new big budget addition to the zombie family looks set to take the world by storm this year. If the clever writing style of the source material and the very hectic trailer are anything to go by, the film is going to be incredible. However, it is the character of Gerry that is going to be the clincher. Torn between his family and the new world he must confront, Brad Pitt has a hell of a role to play. Sure, he may not be the big, beefy zombie killer that the higher ranks of this list will describe in arduously gory detail, however, his role of interviewing survivors may be just about the heroic act of them all. In a time where the plague looks just like us, what better way to sustain our humanity than keeping it recorded for future generations to learn from?
