10 Best Side Characters In The MCU

6. Korg (Thor: Ragnarok)

MCU Supporting
Marvel Studios

In a film chock-full of scene-stealers, Korg is the one who manages to steal every scene he's in. This is almost certainly due to the fact that he is played by none other than Taiki Waititi himself.

Waititi's voice and unique comedic taste are exactly what made Ragnarok such a shot in the arm for the Thor films and his voice is quite literally personified through the actions and remarks of Korg. He is a lovable, goofy, and immediately friendly combatant that Thor meets in the Grandmaster's dungeons of Sakaar. Korg is able to offer up a meta-commentary on the designs and visuals within the film, making fun of all the various creature designs and how dirty the locations look.

There's an especially great scene in which Thor talks to Korg about losing his hammer and Waititi is able to re-enforce the notion of how much Thor misses his hammer while also generating some huge meta laughs.

Honestly, any filmmaker who can convince Marvel to end a film with a pitch black joke where a rock monster talks about how he's been carrying around his dead best friend for hours because he accidentally stepped on him during the fight deserves to be honored.
