10 Biggest Mistakes In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Is Guardians Of The Galaxy far enough behind us now to mention that it had some flaws? Before you reach for your digital pitchforks, that's not suggesting that GOTG wasnt a very good film indeed; it was fun, funny, exciting and the same but different in the best possible way a perfect summer movie. Almost. Freddy Got Fingered aside, theres no such thing as a perfect movie. Ronan was an imposing but rather empty, 2D nemesis, Thanos looked like an unfinished character from a computer game cut scene and Nebula was a nebulous presence, and thats without going in to some of the more general criticisms that tend to recur in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are now ten entries in the MCU, and as much as its tempting to award the studio a perfect ten, this position doesnt stand up to scrutiny. This year alone, Marvel Studios released two of their very best efforts to date, with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and GOTG both hitting the twin targets of critical acclaim and box office success that every tentpole movie aims for. That being said, even its most ardent advocates would struggle to argue that Thor: The Dark World belongs in the same company. The recent arrival of the Avengers: Age of Ultrons first official trailer kicked off the countdown to Earths Mightiest Heroes coming together again in five months' time, and a couple of months after that we will finally lay eyes on the long-anticipated Ant-Man. Some more superb entertainment is all but guaranteed, but were reaching a critical juncture in Marvels grand design, and if ever there was a time to address a few shortcomings, that time is now. So lets put the fan worship to one side for a moment and dare to explore some of the MCUs errors to this point.
