10 Biggest Mistakes In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

10. Puny Hulk

As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can€™t make a good standalone Hulk movie. Ang Lee is one of the world€™s finest and most versatile filmmakers, but his 2003 take on Marvel€™s most volatile player was uneven and forgettable. And just a couple of months after Marvel Studios made their official bow with Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk arrived in cinemas but never threatened to match the acclaim or success of their debut offering. Far from incredible, Louis Leterrier€™s film had its moments €“ the favela chase was exhilarating, and Ed Norton was a great fit for Bruce Banner €“ but it was the Hulk we needed rather than the one we deserved. Ty Burrell looked confused (and not in his bumbling, charming Modern Family fashion), Liv Tyler was underused, and the Abomination was CGI silliness. Good enough to make its money back and lay down a couple of building blocks for the nascent Avengers Initiative, although nowhere near successful enough to justify a sequel, The Incredible Hulk was a prime example of a studio finding its feet. To call it a mistake seems a little harsh. Nonetheless, while Marvel made a better fist of Thor and Captain America€™s debuts and the Hulk was the scene-smashing star of The Avengers, they haven€™t yet cracked the code of giving Bruce Banner an individual outing to savour.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
