10 Classic Movies We Need To See In IMAX

9. Jurassic Park (1993)

Jurassic Park virtually redefined the action-adventure genre when it arrived on the scene in 1993, enhancing Steven Spielberg's name as an action auteur, and moreover, scaring the living Bajeezus out of audiences left, right and center. The film manages to skirt several age restrictions despite featuring a number of disturbing scenes - chiefly the moment in which Samuel L. Jackson's arm ends up on Laura Dern's shoulder - and serves as one of the most delerious and disorientating disaster flicks of the 90s, with particular praise being drawn to the immaculate visual effects.

Still, what would we love to see in the IMAX format? Surely, the dinosaurs and little else, but thankfully, Spielberg keeps us on our toes and fields the threats out thick and fast, such that the downtime never feels too cumbersome and, indeed, the dinosaurs actually feel like a palpable threat. In IMAX, this sense of fear and terror would only be exaggerated; given how well the visual effects have aged, we can hopefully look forward to the IMAX treatment prior to the inevitable fourth Jurassic Park film.
