10 Classic Movies We Need To See In IMAX

8. The Godfather (1972)

This might seem like an odd choice given the fact that the original film is heralded as such an inscrutable masterpiece, but The Godfather is one such film that would absolutely benefit from a full-frame, IMAX treatment. Though the picture quality, and indeed, the fidelity of the sound might not be up to the standard we might expect, the sheer epic scale of Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece should be enough to steer this marvel in the right direction.

It's all about truth and consequence when it comes to Coppola's ground-breaking opus about criminals; what better canvas to observe the deception, the dishonour, the mess, the madness than an IMAX screen? To see Marlon Brando's face illuminated on such a big screen would truly enforce his intense iconography, while the more violent scenes - chiefly Santino's devastating murder - would potentially match just about any present-day IMAX sequence.
