Stolz der Nation) acts as kind of centre piece to Tarantino's WWII epic, and looks to be just as exciting as the brilliant movie it's attached to. In a similar vein to American movies like
To Hell And Back (which saw real-life WWII veteran Audie Murphy playing himself),
Nation's Pride has fictional German sniper Fredick Zoller (also playing "himself") trapped in a crow's nest and taking down what appears to be the entire U.S. Army, a scenario based on his "real-life" exploits (well, in the movie's world, anyway). From what we witness of
Nation's Pride, it's German propaganda movies at its best parodied (though, you'll admit, it's directed with great artistry by Eli Roth). It's likely not up to the standards of Reifenstahl, but it sure looks like a hell of a good time - even if your main character
is a filthy Nazi.
