10 Most Hilarious Mark Kermode Rants

8. Run For Your Wife/Pimp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbiKDfgkyBY Danny Dyer is one of the favourite targets of Kermode's rants. Year after year of terrible mock-cockney hard man roles has turned Dyer into a parody of himself, and boy does Kermode relish in it. His scathing reviews, inevitably accompanied by a hilarious impression, have even seen Dyer come to loggerheads with the reviewer. The finest moment in the review of Pimp is when Kermode recites lines from The Godfather in his best Mockney accent, before concluding that 'even by Danny Dyer standards it is grot of the highest order.' So, Dyer can't do mob-boss, and as it turns out, he can't do comedy either. Run for Your Wife is one of his most universally slated films British films of recent years, currently garnering an impressive 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. In it, Dyer turns his hand to comedy for the first time, playing a 'genial cockney bigamist.' Mournfully, Mark notes that this is the first instance where he hasn't found Dyer's performance funny, labelling the film a 'graveyard of comedy.' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLJY4GVP7KE

I have one golden rule: There is no such thing as a guilty pleasure. Any song or film that makes you feel good doesn't need justifying.
