7. Eat, Pray, Love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WenltEbuenM Kermode summarises Eat, Pray Love as when 'someone with nothing to moan or complain about decides to moan and complain.' This may have sufficed for a standard negative review but this film was not going to get away so lightly. Now widely known by the name 'Eat, Pray, Love... Vomit', this review is a blueprint for how a great Kermodian rant should be done. Start by looking dejected from the outset, mimic the characters, add in the sarcastic singing of motivational phrases like 'I'm learning to love myself', before finishing with the suggestion of an alternate ending in which Werner Herzog tells the main character there is no God. Masterful stuff. But where does the vomit come in? As Kermode observes in his blog review, Julia Roberts eats so much throughout the film that the only way she could stay a size 6 throughout is to 'Eat, Pray, Love... Vomit.' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY8rswBdNCQ

I have one golden rule: There is no such thing as a guilty pleasure. Any song or film that makes you feel good doesn't need justifying.
