10 Huge Implications Of The Jungle Book's Box Office Success

Wouldn't want to be in Chris Hemsworth's shoes right now.

After Blackhat flopped at the box office in 2015 and lost more than $50 million, it looks as though the next big film to feature the actor in a leading role is going to fail spectacularly when it opens this weekend at the US box office and has to go up against The Jungle Book.

Winter's War is the prequel that nobody asked for, and the film has already performed poorly around the globe (it has grossed a mere $43 on a budget almost three times as much as that). Now, with all the positive word of mouth surrounding The Jungle Book, it looks positioned to have a spectacular second weekend, which doesn't leave much room for The Huntsman to claw back the money it needs.

That seems to imply an end to this particular franchise, and The Jungle Book will be partly to blame for that. Though "blame" is probably the wrong word. Thanks?
