10 Marvel Characters Patrick Wilson Could Be In Ant-Man

Hero or villain? Brand new character for the movies or someone from the comics? We break it down...

Patrick Wilson I Love Ants As Marvel continues to build up excitement for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie - a big budget superhero movie starring little-known Marvel characters - they're gearing up to make their next little-known big budget movie: Ant-Man. Having gotten a great director in Edgar Wright and an increasingly interesting cast which includes Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym/Ant-Man, they've continued to add big name actors to the movie with Patrick Wilson being the latest star to be cast. Wilson has superhero movie experience, having previously starred in Zack Snyder's Watchmen as Nite Owl, and looks to build on that in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Or does he? Will he be an ongoing hero or a one-movie villain like Guy Pearce in Iron Man 3? So far, there's been no word on who Wilson will be playing but, given the number of characters in the Marvel U, there are numerous possibilities. So let's take a look at those possibilities. Here are some ideas on who Patrick Wilson could be playing in the Ant-Man movie.

10. Marc Spector/Moon Knight

"Who?" says every non comics reader. "Batman with a white outfit?" Basically yes €“ Moon Knight, aka Marc Spector, is like Bruce Wayne/Batman in that he's a non-superpowered well-off human who uses gadgets in his vigilante fight against crime. But he's different in other ways besides his costume being white €“ he's also completely mad! A former mercenary, Spector is changed on a mission to Egypt where he develops a connection to the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu. Believing he is the avatar of vengeance, he fights injustice wherever he sees it, partly out of guilt from his mercenary past. In recent years, the character's been written with mental problems like in Brian Bendis/Alex Maleev's run where he developed three different personalities alongside his Moon Knight persona, believing he was also Spider-Man, Captain America, and Wolverine. So why would Patrick Wilson be this character? Because, as Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy shows, Marvel Studios is branching out into movies starring their lesser known characters. Moon Knight is getting a big re-launch this year in the comics with writer Warren Ellis, and Marvel might want to introduce audiences to this odd character with a cameo appearance to build anticipation up with the audience before announcing a solo movie.
