10 Moments Of Ridiculously Smart Foreshadowing In The MCU

From Doctor Strange to the Infinity Wars, the clues are already out there.

Before Iron Man, cinematic superheroes lived in their self-contained bubbles. Batman never met Superman. The Fantastic Four never met Spider-Man. Even the X-Men universe was confined to mutants only. But with the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the groundwork was laid for the most exciting superhero franchise every created; one that DC is now desperate to replicate. Phase 1 began with the introduction of four superheroes - Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Hulk (though you could argue the last one was more a reintroduction). This all culminated in Joss Whedon's mega successful superhero team-up The Avengers. Phase 2 has continued down the sequel route, with only the Guardians Of The Galaxy giving us something entirely new. Phase 3 looks to take things up to a whole new level, with new characters and returning favourites before the mighty Infinity War story line is unleashed. Of course, fans of the movies and the comics from where they came, will know this already. So does Kevin Feige, the mastermind producing the Marvel cinematic universe. He has films apparently planned all the way up to 2028, so Phase 3 is far from the end. In fact he has being setting up the universe from the moment audiences were introduced to Iron Man. This article looks at 10 moments of ridiculous foreshadowing that laid the groundwork for future movies - many of them announced, some a potential films in Phases 4 or 5. Warning: there may be some references to events in the comics not yet translated to film.
