10 More Harry Potter Stars We Would Love To Join Game Of Thrones

Winter is coming, but unfortunately we are currently in that awkward part of the year where we're all forced to wait, and wait... and wait for the next season of Game Of Thrones. Casting news is abuzz on which starry talent will be stepping into the final two series of the show, and the rumour mill is turning on who they might be playing.
What we know so far is a little scant. Last season had the short (but sweet) cameo of the legend that is Ian McShane, but next season the quality kicks up further as Jim Broadbent is officially joining in a 'significant role'. He becomes the latest former Harry Potter movie actor after the likes of Natalia Tena, Michelle Fairley, and David Bradley to play characters in both universes, and you can see why there'd be such cross-over.
Both are grand scale, theatrical productions; both are magical; both rely on strong character acting. So it shouldn't stop there.
HBO should turn to Harry Potter actors once more, and these are the best options they should consider...
10. Maggie Smith
As no-nonsense Minerva McGonagall, Smith was the kindly Deputy Head of Hogwarts, and head of Gryffindor, and one of Harry's many guardians. A varied career across stage and screen mean that Maggie Smith really is a national treasure. From Othello (1965) to The First Wives Club (1996), Smith rightly deserves her damehood. The 81-year-old is said to be "astonished" at winning and Emmy for her role as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, in ITV's Downton Abbey.
Ending after six seasons, the latest rumours are that Smith could reprise her role for the long-awaited Downton feature-film. As for Game of Thrones, Smith's stern looks and sharp tongue means she could be a formidable verbal opponent for Dame Diana Rigg's Olenna Tyrell. Imagine that war of words!
