10 Most Rewatchable Movies Of The 1980s

1. Raiders Of The Lost Ark

Paramount Pictures

Raiders Of The Lost Ark is the movie which got an entire generation of kids into archaeology back the early 1980s, but it's no relic.

Steven Spielberg's adventure classic pulled viewers in with its iconic boulder scene right from the off and never let them go until the end credits had rolled. Everything about the movie worked, from the humour to the action and even the music.

And here's the kicker: it all still works today. Harrison Ford's first crack of the whip is still a benchmark for blockbuster filmmaking. The scene where Indy cheekily shoots the swordsman, John Williams's epic score, the face-melting finale - all of these things just beg revisitation.

No matter how many times it's parodied, ripped-off and rewatched, Raiders of the Lost Ark will never lose its sheen.
