No matter how many times you've seen Airplane! you're guaranteed to have missed a gag. Whether it's a shrewd piece of visual humour, a one-liner or clever wordplay, something new will have you in stitches each sitting.
Creators Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker crammed so much comedy into their feature debut. It's a barrage of quips from start to finish, and so much passes under the radar because you're too busy laughing at the previous gag.
Airplane! is the movie that put the spoof on the Hollywood map, but it can be forgiven for that since it also established Leslie Nielsen as the king of deadpan comedy.
Granted, not all of its jokes are timeless, but try sitting through the near-fatal River Of Jordan singalong scene without at least cracking a smile.
