10 Movie Characters Who Never Deserved To Die

jurassic-park There have been thousands of deaths on screen over the past 100 or so years of cinema, many have been to characters who absolutely had it coming. They were the villain or the henchmen or just really, really annoying, but either way their deaths were not only welcomed but expected. Sometimes a death happens and the victim is someone who has done almost nothing to deserve it, it almost doesn't even make sense from a plotting perspective, this is just mindless death for the sake of it. They are the helpful sidekicks, the love interests and on occasion, man's best friend. Here are ten characters who really didn't need to shuffle off this mortal coil. Stating the obvious a tad, but this article is chock full of spoilers, but most of the films are pretty old so it's kind of your own fault now if something gets ruined.

10. Jack Dawson (Titanic)

b_rose-and-jack-in-water Poor old Jack Dawson, wins tickets for the Titanic, manages to bed a posh girl. His life seemed to really be back on track until that pesky iceberg. For all is plucky spirit and ability to seemingly get out of any situation he finds himself in, his death ends up being totally avoidable. "Rose dear, could you shuffle over a tad? Water's a bit nippy and that massive door you are sitting on looks much comfier. Plus, body heat and all that." Problem solved, Jack survives. If one of them really, absolutely had to die, then surely it should have been Rose? She didn't even want to live at the start of the film while Jack was full of vitality despite being poor and probably having fleas, while she was just a whiny, annoying, spoiled rich girl.
