Ever been sat in the cinema with a girlfriend or a date and found yourself paying more attention to the girl on screen than the one next to you? This list is an homage to the sirens of the silver screen who draw unwilling males into their web of seduction.
These female characters are not perfect, and do not possess all the qualities which constitute the mythical fabric of ‘girlfriend material’. Instead they demonstrate some of the positive characteristics which are highly desirable in males and females alike. Noble and chivalrous traits such as compassion or a sense of humour, or the ability to look after you when the world is in the throes of a post-nuclear apocalypse. Basic qualities which are the cornerstone of any healthy relationship.
So without further ado, I present to you this list of lovely ladies whose picture no man would be ashamed to keep in his wallet.
Lastly, by choosing to write this I am immediately skating on very thin ice. I am taking the risk that my girlfriend could see it, and if she does, there is a high probability that she will not take too kindly to this article. But then again, there remains in me an ideological hope that perhaps girlfriends everywhere will read this article and subconsciously emulate the characters who made the list. Or at least acknowledge and appreciate them. Man can always dream.

Hermione isn’t a muggle….
Dammit! Yeah you’re right she is a muggle-born, not a muggle, my mistake.
You forgot my personal favorite : Elisa Cuthbert from The Girl Next Door !
Summer Finn? Really? I feel like I don’t remember the movie very well, or there are some serious rose-tinted glasses being worn now. While Zooey Deschanel is amazing, Summer was terrified of commitment and ruined Tom’s life for a fair bit (albeit through some fault of his own). If this was to say like, Jess Day from New Girl (I get that it’s not a movie), I could understand, but I don’t get why you’d want to go out with Summer.
Summer made the list because of all the lovable qualities that Zooey Deschanel brings to her characters. The fact that was she terrified of commitment was her only her downfall, but that in turn heightened her elusiveness and presented her as this beautiful unattainable object. I guess the entry is more devoted to Zooey Deschanel in whatever role she is playing, whether it is Summer Finn or Jess Day, but I stand by my choice.
Bo beeps a weird choice brah.
As a girl I’m just glad this list doesn’t go more like: 1. Megan Fox 2. Megan Fox 3. Megan Fox. You’ve included some nice surprises.
what about Sofia Serrano, played by Penélope Cruz in vanilla sky? to me she is almost the perfect woman, let alone g/f.
Please stop putting the #1 choice as your header picture. It kind of spoils the surprise.
Massive mistake to not include Alabama Worley from True Romance.
Summer Finn?
Really?
Ugh, Summer Finn is exactly what I do NOT want my girlfriend to be like. She’s a selfish, immature, and spoiled little succubus.
500 days of summer is one of my favorite movies, I fell in love with Zooey in this movie. She is by far the most beautiful lady on the planet!
For me the ultimate movie girlfriend would be Mystique! She can literally be whoever you want AND she’s hot in her mutant form!
