10 Movie Remakes You Didn't Know Were In The Works

8. License To Drive

Masters Of The Universe
20th Century Fox

The original: The 1988 teen comedy starred Corey Haim and Corey Feldman as, basically, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, two cool young dudes who had no devastating personal problems whatsoever as far as anyone knew. Madcap action ensues when the unlicensed drivers mischievously 'borrow' a deluxe Cadillac for a night.

The remake: The original film's producer John Davis announced in summer 2017 that plans were in motion for a gender-swapped remake, with screenwriting duo Alisha Brophy and Scott Miles (Girl Problems) on script duties.

Should We Be Excited?

Let's face it, anyone who says their favourite movie starring the Two Coreys isn't The Lost Boys is just wrong, or at least has way too much affection for 80s cheese. License To Drive may have once been a favourite VHS rental at sleepovers, but it's certainly not the sort of thing that would generally be considered sacrosanct.

As such, no one should be too upset about getting a remake - but at the same time, it's not exactly something to get all hyped up about either, or at least not until we have some idea of which young actresses will be charged with picking up where Feldman and the late Haim left off.
