10 Movies Stuck In Development Hell

Halo 4 Whether or not it€™s because of money issues, problems with the rights, a lack of a script, the development Hell is definitely one place where no movie would like to be. It's that moment in which the movie is stuck going nowhere, and with the possibilities of it being made slowly go down day by day. Sadly many great projects that had the potential to become the next great thing ended up being in development Hell, and I€™m pretty sure that if they weren€™t there, maybe the world of cinema nowadays would be something better. So, now we€™ll present you a top 10 of movies that need, no, that deserve to leave development Hell.

10. Clerks: Sell Out

Clerks Sell Out Clerks is one of the greatest films that has come out of the 90's. Not only it was the debut of the director Kevin Smith but is one of the jewels of recent pop culture. With clever dialogue, really funny moments and likeable characters that were a reflection of young adults at that point, Clerks became a hit as soon as it came out. With a sequel, an animated series, 5 movies set in the same universe and a new sequel announced past December, it is definitely a cult classic. And in 2006, an animated feature based on the well-received animated series was planned and even went as far as having an animation test that same year. With Kevin Smith set to write and direct this new sequel, the expectations for the film were pretty big. And seeing the return of some of some of the most likeable characters in filmmaking was something everyone was expecting. So, What Happened? When Harvey and Bob Weinstein left Miramax (which was owned by Disney) to found their own company (The Weinstein Company) the split wasn't amicable; the rights to the TV series were owned by Disney and they didn't want to work with The Weinstein Company. And so the movie was never made. However, in 2011 Miramax was bought by several investors and a short time later Kevin Smith announced that Miramax has contacted him for new projects. And while this doesn't mean that the animated feature will be made, it does give the opportunity for the series to make a comeback soon.
