Why You Have To Try It: Harry Potter exemplifies a series greater than the sum of it€™s parts. Each entry is fine as a mindless blockbuster, but really only Prisoner Of Azkaban comes close to matching the creativity of J.K. Rowling€™'s book series.

Yet if you sit down and watch it through from beginning to end, it evolves from something fairly pedestrian to an exciting, developed adventure with a serious emotional hook. The sudden change in feeling, from lighthearted family romp to serious battle between good and evil feels less jarring because, as with any successful material, it loops back to being about the characters.

The Harry Potter franchise is a great chronicle of growing up and, when viewed as one long marathon, the whimsy that seemed to switch about from film to film doesn't become anywhere near as problematic. More so than any franchise on this list, Harry Potter is one where it is greatly improved by having it done in all one go. Now go get the Red Bull and get on it.
