Many know the multi-talented Kenneth Branagh as one of the greatest modern Shakespearian actors in the world, but Branagh has shown himself to be a credible director on countless occasions. As well as making some terrific low key films, he has also proven himself to be adept when it comes to handling a multi-million dollar budget with another of Disney's properties, Marvel's Thor.

The tone, style and genre of Thor snugly fits into the Star Wars universe. The action scenes were brilliantly crafted, the operatic world of Asgard was fully realised, and it also brought a surprising amount of comedy with its tongue-in-cheek approach to the fish-out-of-water comedy as Thor attempts to adjust to life on Earth.

The man from Northern Ireland must also be on fantastic terms with Disney for directing the aforementioned Thor and also the live-action remake of Cinderella, which although may be a million lightyears away from Star Wars in terms of style and genre, more importantly for the suits at Disney at least, it made them a tonne of cash.
