10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About Marvel's Phase 3

10. Black Widow Will Meet Her End - Captain America: Civil War

Whilst lots of fans are assuming that the hero of the title, Captain America, will bite the dust in the upcoming Avengers fight movie, there's another theory doing the rounds at the moment that purports otherwise - that, actually, Black Widow (AKA Natasha Romanoff), will meet an untimely end as a result of the epic, long-awaited inter-superhero conflict. The evidence? Firstly, many have voiced their concerns that her storyline has reached its potential; that - as a character - she's gone as far as she can go. Secondly, she's a human being and is therefore more vulnerable to a superhero battle. Thirdly, she has personal ties to almost all of the Avengers (especially Hawkeye, Captain America and the Hulk and killing her off would result in lots of conflict, blame and anger. Basically, super drama. Whilst it seems safe to assume that somebody will end up dead (what's the point otherwise?), it seems unlikely that any of the major characters will meet their doom. And whilst killing Captain America would really shake things up, Black Widow makes a lot more sense; she's not a "flagship" character, as such, and she doesn't have a franchise of her own. And yet she's still important enough that Marvel fans would mourn her death.
