10 Shocking (But Believable) Theories About Suicide Squad

9. The Joker Is Really Jason Todd (AKA Robin)

Probably the best-known "crazy theory" on this list, there are lots and lots of people out there who are operating under the firm belief that Suicide Squad's big twist will reveal that the Joker, Batman's arch nemesis, is actually his former partner Jason Todd (AKA Robin). And there appears to be a lot of evidence scattered through the promotional materials glimpsed thus far to back this theory up (though, to be fair, there's just as much evidence pointing to the fact that the Joker killed Jason Todd, thus furthering Batman's deep-seated hatred for the Clown Prince of Gotham). Still, the Joker's older age, matched with two scars (that appear as bullet holes in Robin's old suit), have convinced many of the connection. If writer/director David Ayer has actually opted to go down this route, then it will likely create a huge amount of controversy amongst Batman fans. But given that controversy is probably deemed to be rather good in this day and age of secretive blockbusters, there's no reason why he couldn't have opted to make this new incarnation of the Joker a former Robin.
