8. Rick Flag Will Meet His Doom

One particularly morbid theory currently circulating concerns the character of Rick Flag, a member of the Suicide Squad who - in the comic, at least - works directly under Amanda Waller and is the sometimes leader (though Deadshot, the sniper character played by none other than Will Smith, seems positioned to have taken on that role in the movie). The theory goes that Flag will perish at the end of the movie, which sends his bodyguard - fellow squad member Katana - on a path of relentless violence in the wake of his demise. This speculation seemingly comes as a result of trailer images showing Katana in a state of emotional meltdown. The only thing likely to reduce this otherwise emotionless killing machine to tears? Well, how about the death of her most trusted friend Mr. Rick Flag? Granted, Rick Flag is a rather important member of the squad, which calls this theory into question. But given that there are tons of characters (and that Deadshot appears to have taken on the role of squad leader), it's not totally crazy to imagine ol' Rick getting killed.
