10 Small Changes That Would Have Improved The Star Wars Prequels

3. Darth Maul Should Have Survived The Phantom Menace

Maul One of the most common criticisms of the Phantom Menace is that it killed off its most interesting character after only a few minutes of screentime. While I do think Darth Maul doesn't really have the personality to be developed more as a character, keeping him around for a few extra movies would add a layer to Obi-Wan Kenobi, as he could spend a good deal of the sequels searching for him. Even though it probably wouldn't work as well on screen as it does in my head, I think a duel in Episode III between Count Dooku and Darth Maul on one side and Obi-Wan and Anakin on the other would have been awesome.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
