10 Summer Horror Movies You Have To See

2. Humanoids Of The Deep

If you want an actual good version of Horror of Party Beach, try Humanoids of the Deep, another beach horror film about half-human half-fish creatures but with no terrible surf music to speak of.

From B-movie mastermind Roger Corman, the film is actually about these insane looking fish monsters who attack teenagers, killing men and trying to mate with women. The creature effects look pretty good for cheap rubber suits, and it's full of some really nasty kills and a whole lot of blood. Plus, as is true of any water themed horror movie after Jaws, it's also got tons of point-of-view shots that take place underwater looking up at the swimmers' legs.

There are an unfortunate amount of scenes of the monsters raping women, though, and actually Corman apparently had a second director go in later and film extra, more graphic rape scenes. Yes, Corman is quoted as saying that the original director, Barbara Peeters, did a good job with the death scenes, but there wasn't nearly enough rape in her version. Many of the people who worked on the original film didn't even realize Corman added new scenes until the movie was released.

Corman, you sick bastard.
