10 Things You Learn Rewatching Goldfinger
4. The Warehouse Car Chase Is Dementedly Brilliant
By far the best action sequence in Goldfinger is the car chase at the villain's compound, as Bond and Tilly Masterson attempt to flee Goldfinger's plentiful goons.
Even with its blatantly sped-up shots of cars racing around, it's a frenetic, superbly shot sequence - especially for 1964 - that mostly holds up terrifically well today.
Some of the best moments include Bond's Aston Martin DB5 deploying an oil slick, causing an enemy car to careen off a cliff (and spontaneously combust, of course), ejecting a henchman out of the car's passenger seat, being shot at by an old lady with a giant machine gun, and Bond's climactic crash into the warehouse brick wall.
There are some fantastic shots throughout the scene, and overall it pulses with terrific energy, making it one of the most remarkable and agreeably over-the-top Bond car chases even today.
