10 Things You Learn Rewatching Goldfinger

5. The Golf Sequence Is Way Too Long

In the movie's first act, Bond shows up at Goldfinger's Kent golf club and instigates a high-stakes match between the two, leading to this almost excruciating, 10-minute sequence where the pair play holes against one another, attempting to deceive and one-up each other.

It's not an inherently bad idea for a scene, but it does rather drag on a bit, and as far as the series' set-pieces go, it's just not terribly exciting watching Bond and co. hit balls, search for balls and switch balls for this long.

Apparently it did foster Sean Connery's real-life love for golf, though, so the evidently long shoot certainly wasn't for nothing.
