9. Hungry Hungry Hippos
What Is It?: The popular table-top game made for children, in which each player has to try and collect the most marbles using the mouth of their hippo.
And It's Weird Because...?: For years, it has been an industry joke that, given that something as absurd as Battleship has had the Hollywood treatment, it's just a matter of time before someone greenlit a Hungry Hungry Hippos film. Clearly, one studio executive took these Internet jokes to heart and thought it a good idea, hence Emmett/Furla Films agreeing to finance the movie, alongside adaptations of Action Man and, you guessed it, Monopoly (which I'll get to in a moment). No details yet as to how it's going to go down, though you can bet it'll involve a healthy dose of CGI magic.
