10 Upcoming Sequels In Franchises You Thought Were Long Dead

Seriously, Hollywood, we're not that fussed.

Sequels, sequels, everywhere, and not a drop to drink. That's how the phrase goes, isn't it? Whatever. By now, and as human being on modern day planet Earth, you're probably well aware of Hollywood's obsession with those things we like to call sequels - if there's an opportunity to sell one to the public, no matter how contrived or unnecessary they are, Hollywood will do it. And it doesn't just have to be a sequel, by the way: Hollywood are just as interested in reboots, prequels, remakes and something called "restarts" now, too. We currently live in a world in which movie franchises can spawn up to six or seven sequels in the space of a decade - some franchises thrive on their ability to "do a new one" every year. And when these franchises finally go away, their creative possibilities finally drained of all potential, we all breathe a sign of relief. But some franchises don't like to stay dead. Because what use is a movie franchise that doesn't currently have a sequel in the works? What was the point of franchising the damned thing in the first place? Right? RIGHT? Join us, then, as we take a look at 10 upcoming sequels from franchises we thought had gone the way of the dodo, only for them to spring back to life to tell us: "No. It's not over yet."
