10 Worst Actors To Ever Win An Oscar

5. Jennifer Hudson

The Academy Award handed out for this performance is tainted from the outset, given that Jennifer Hudson is not an actress, and this performance was not really an acting one, but rather a singing one. This feels like the Academy trying to call the next big thing, by giving Hudson an Oscar for what essentially amounts to one big moment - her grandiose song sequence mid-way through the film. But the problem is that it's not emotional or particularly soulful; it surely suffers from being over-hyped, but there's nothing that says she should have won over the likes of Rinko Kikuchi (Babel), Cate Blanchett (Notes on a Scandal) or Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine). Also, look at the evidence that she probably cannot act; she followed up this apparently prestigious role by playing hired hand to Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, and hasn't been in a single notable thing since.
