12 Horror Movie Sets That Were Definitely Cursed

Apparently, James Wan didn’t learn from his spooky experiences directing the first Conjuring movie because the very next year he was producing yet another Ed and Lorraine Warren related film – evil doll spin-off Annabelle.

Although the Warrens don’t feature in the movie – which is, in fact, completely fictional unlike the Conjuring films – they did come into ownership of the real-life Annabelle doll who is actually a lot less evil looking than her on screen counterpart, but we suppose looks can be deceiving.

Nevertheless, it seems the bad luck associated with the Warrens and their freaky doll still infiltrated the set of Annabelle. Similar to the paranormal attack endured by Vera Farmiga’s laptop during the making of The Conjuring, another three claw marks mysteriously appeared onset that looked uncannily like the three-clawed demon that possesses Annabelle in the movie.

Speaking of the demon, when the dude who plays him – Annabelle composer Joseph Bishara, who’s played quite a few evil entities in James Wan productions – was on his first day of shooting in full make-up, an oddly prescient accident occurred.

As Bishara was making his way to the on-set green room in costume, an actor playing a janitor in the film was following behind him and as Bishara passed under a giant light fixture it crashed to the ground, hitting the janitor actor on the head.

Now, you could try and explain that away as just another on-set accident, but funnily enough the janitor character was killed in the exact same way by the demon in Annabelle’s original script (though this scene was cut from the finished movie). Spooky.
