12 Potential Post-Credits Scenes For Avengers: Age Of Ultron

The most important part of any Marvel movie.

The epic showdown between Hulk and a pimped-out Iron Man; Thor swatting Captain America's shield into legions of Ultron's goons; that shot: yeah, Avengers: Age Of Ultron is sure going to have some pretty awesome scenes. But as great as the movie no doubt ends up being, nothing's going to quite get the fans going like the post-credits scene(s). A franchise institution since Samuel L. Jackson popped up to tell everyone Iron Man wasn't just a piece of standalone fun, a little stinger after, to the point where even those with only passing interest in superhero cinema know they can't run to the bathroom just yet. And while many other series have got in on the act, few tease the future (or, in some cases, troll the fans) quite like Marvel. According to Joss Whedon, the studio is going to go against the tradition of The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier and only include one, mid-credits stinger in Avengers: Age Of Ultron (those movies included two). That's right; for the first time since The Incredible Hulk, sticking through the credits will only leave you with a blank screen. Although that does mean there's less extra-bang for your buck, at least this won't be a joke scene; expect something big, with far-reaching narrative consequences. With the broad strokes of the franchise's future up to 2019 mapped out (but specifics hard to come by), the nature of Age Of Ultron's sting is a top priority for rabidly speculating fans. Here's a rundown of twelve of the most exciting scenes that could fit the bill, ranging from the rational-yet-unlikely to the bonkers-yet-probable.
