Does Thanos literally plan to "court Death"?

In case you missed the constant hints since The Avengers, the MCU is hurtling headlong into a catastrophic, universe ending showcase event that will make Civil War look like a picnic in the park with superfriends. The Infinity Saga is already in full swing, with all but one of the Stones uncovered (and the last piece of the jigsaw to be revealed in Thor: Ragnarok) and big bad Thanos vowing to "do it himself" after flirting with Marvel fans for years.

And while there is a lot of water yet to flow before the third Avengers movie kicks off next year, we should be soon getting to a position where all of the chess pieces are in place for Thanos' attack on the universe to retrieve the Stones and then what comes after. But even now the film remains as shrouded in mystery as the Mad Titan's true motivations.

Sure, we know a basic shape of the plot, and some of the Avengers and supporting figures who are involved, but almost everything else remains a mystery. And that means there are a considerable number of threads to pull, loose ends to unravel and questions to be answered: the most compelling of which would form a very strong foundation for what we can expect from the forthcoming comic book movie event.

Here are the biggest unanswered mysteries currently linked to Avengers: Infinity War...

13. Who Is Peter Dinklage Playing?

Thanks to Variety, we know that Game Of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is being set up for a "key role" in Avengers: Infinity War. The big question here is who he will be playing.

Dinklage of course has already played a part in a Marvel film, taking on the rebooted version of Bolivar Trask for X-Men: Days Of Future Past, but he's clearly not had his fill of comic book movies just yet.

The most intriguing suggestions state that he's either set to play Pip - sidekick to Adam Warlock - or perhaps MODOK, both of which would presumably use his physical appearance as a big part of the performance. Both would also require some establishing work, since Warlock is yet to appear (despite being hinted at in Guardians Of The Galaxy) and another new, big villain alongside Thanos a little unlikely as it stands.

Still, it's great news that he's involved in any way.
