5. John Wick

The Pitch: A retired assassin, John Wick (Keanu Reeves), finds himself seeking revenge after a gang murders his dog, which was a gift from his dying wife. Why It Could Score 0%: While the trailer for John Wick is snazzy enough, the premise is laughably absurd, it's directed by a stunt-man-turned-filmmaker (and it's his first time behind the camera), and it's written by the man responsible for The Package (0%, admittedly only with one review). In addition, despite being due for release in just over a month, the movie has virtually no marketing presence whatsoever, and the first trailer was only released last week, which will already give critics a certain expectation about the movie's quality. It's certainly not impossible that John Wick could be an out-of-nowhere success (likely more so with critics than audiences, who largely don't even know the movie exists), though from what's been shown off so far, it's extremely unlikely.
