15 Badasses We Would Like To See In The Expendables 3

13. Liam Neeson

Everyone knows that Liam Neeson has a very particular set of skills. The man who inspired voicemails the world over, is fast becoming the unlikely source of an action hero renaissance. When everyone else is focused on youth and young manhood, Neeson has crept up and judo chopped a clearing for the middle aged tough guy. His appearance in the shoddy A-Team movie showed that he plays well with others, but Neeson is a natural leader (the man has played mentor roles for years), so there would be some interesting tension between him and Stallone€™s Ross. The best way to introduce him into the franchise would probably be through Statham€™s Christmas. We know that Christmas has a girlfriend in Lacy. What would be an interesting development is if her dad turns out to be a high-ranking Army officer in the form of Liam Neeson. I can smell the napalm and gunpowder already. Possible Weapon: As much as I€™d like to say, €œbroken glass taped to his knuckles," or "nails and a light switch." But a more feasible option would probably be the classic Gloc pistol.

14. Takeshi Kitano

The other major contender for awesome bad guy, Kitano is just mental enough to portray an off kilter and unexpected threat for the Expendables. Known for his roles in the likes of Violent Cop and Boiling Point, it was his cold super bastard turn in Battle Royale which is most recognized amongst Western audiences. Kitano has a freakishly unsettling gift to just sit and stare at people; making them simultaneously amused and terrified. This muted threat would make for an interesting spin on the ostentatious nature of previous Expendables villains, and could provide a more unsettling and menacing tone to the third outing. Japan would make for an interesting contrast to the scorching heat of the first film and humdrum poverty of the second, and the Japanese Yakuza are always a strong go-to point for Hollywood baddies. So an easy dot-to-dot could have Kitano as a Yakuza boss. And if all else fails, there could always be a Takeshi€™s Castle themed showdown. Possible Weapon: Samurai sword.
