And finally, we have what is an unquestionably low-effort parody, which marketed itself as a send-up of The Silence of the Lambs, yet after the initial setup, it quickly leaps off to rib a wider range of movies, most memorably Psycho and Basic Instinct.

Written, directed, produced by, narrated by and starring Ezio Greggio (who?), this spoof doesn't exactly take aim with much intellect, but its sheer idiocy does generate a few honest belly-laughs, and at just 81 minutes in length, it sure doesn't outstay its welcome (though some might argue that point).

To demonstrate the level of humour we're working with here, Billy Zane's protagonist is called "Jo Dee Fostar" (get it?). It clearly wants to be The Naked Gun and doesn't get remotely close, but the gags fire out thick and fast and it never lingers on a joke for too long.

It's certainly nowhere near as terrible as the Friedberg and Seltzer parodies that basically killed the genre in recent years (yet the majority of their efforts actually avoided scoring 0%...somehow).

With random, unexpected cameos from Mel Brooks, Joe Dante, John Carpenter and John Landis, it's at least got a certain disarming weirdness going for it.
