15 Worst Horror Films Of The 21st Century (So Far)

14. Halloween: Resurrection

Halloween Resurrection
Dimension Films
If you want to kill a horror franchise forever, having the main villain fight Busta Rhymes doing kung fu is a pretty surefire way to do so. After a bunch of crappy sequels, the Halloween franchise came back from the dead with Halloween H20, a fantastic entry that finished things once and for all. There would be no need to ever make another. They did anyway, though, of course. Right off the bat, after allowing Laurie Strode to be such a badass in H20, Resurrection gives every fan in the world a giant middle finger by killing her off immediately. Then, the rest of the movie is a poorly acted mess that half the time plays out over shaky webcams and just looks like garbage. It takes place in a universe where footage of people being murdered by Michael Myers is broadcast live online, yet for some reason police don't come to the house immediately, and everyone just kind of watches it happen. It would be one thing if this were just another unnecessary sequel, but Resurrection is especially painful because it's now the official conclusion of the original Halloween franchise. What an unfortunate note to end on.
